This Privacy Policy describes how AI Adventure Quest ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our iOS application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create a profile, we collect a username, avatar choice, and (optionally) an email address from a parent or guardian for account recovery.

Gameplay data

We store your progress, XP, level, badges, quiz answers, and chat messages with Zara so we can sync your adventure across devices and improve the learning experience.

Device information

We collect basic device information (model, iOS version, language, anonymous device identifier) for analytics and crash reporting.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect precise location data.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera unless you explicitly grant permission for a specific feature.
• We do not sell personal information.

2. How we use information

• To run, sync, and personalize your learning experience.
• To improve quests, lessons, and the Zara AI guide.
• To keep the community safe and enforce our Guidelines.
• To respond to support requests.

3. Children's privacy

AI Adventure Quest is intended for learners ages 9 and up. For users under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country), we comply with COPPA, GDPR-K, and Apple's Kids Category requirements:

• We require verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from a child.
• We do not show third-party advertising to children.
• Parents may review, request deletion, or refuse further collection of their child's information at any time by emailing privacy@aiadventurequest.app.

4. AI features (Zara)

Chat messages with Zara are processed by our AI provider to generate responses. Conversations may be reviewed in aggregated, de-identified form to improve safety filters and educational quality. We do not use children's chat content to train third-party foundation models.

5. Sharing of information

We share information only with service providers that help us run the App (hosting, analytics, crash reporting, AI inference) under strict contractual safeguards, and when required by law.

6. Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete your account from inside the App; we will delete or anonymize associated personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, restricted access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe.

8. Your rights

Depending on your region, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us at privacy@aiadventurequest.app to exercise these rights.

9. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced inside the App and on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
